Three Amazing Women!
Three amazing women! -who are leaving us this June 2022. As they work behind the scenes, the parents and leaders didn’t know too much of what they did so I told them:
Charlotte has been with us over 4 years and has got us £66,873.19 in Grants for our scouts group. This figure does not include government lockdown grants. Charlotte has researched grants, built relationships and more. The feedback from organisations is always extremely complementary from their dealings with her. Charlotte has also been involved in fundraising for our scout group that has raised several thousands of pounds too!! Our camping equipment and new look Scout hut is an amazing achievement and lasting legacy which Charlotte can proudly say would not have happened in the last 4 years and for many years to come without her.

Claire has been our Treasurer and Trustee since 2019 (3 years). Under Claire’s direction we have seen closer scrutiny of our accounts, Exec upskilled in accounting matters, expenses paid in a timely fashion!, appropriate reserves in place and budgets for each section. Cla ire has been really flexible with bank runs which is very important for camp deposits, floats etc and our regular in-touch person should an emergency happen. This role requires more dedication compared to other Exec roles and Claire has time and again smashed it. HSBC safeguarding team was a particular traumatic process which hope never to repeat. Without Claire’s leadership and knowledge we would not have been able to launch the hardship fund, which she should feel immensely proud of.

Kate has been our Secretary and Trustee since 2019 (3 years). In 2020 Kate moved away from Market Bosworth so has been doing this role remotely. On top of her normal duties Kate has been my go to person for getting content and articles on our website, which I can tell you has been a big relief for me. When I was struggling through all the lockdown information, Kate was a rock. I remember her just taking over ordering all the PPE kit when for me it was all getting a bit too much. When the kit started appearing at my house it was full steam ahead to get back to face to face scouting. Moments like that stick in your mind for a reason.

The Exec wanted to say thank you and got Charlotte, Claire and Kate a Stirling silver Thank You badge each from the Scout Group.
The parents and leaders also wanted to say thank you and kindly bought Charlotte, Claire and Kate. A fruit basket, flowers and a night time tipple. Here are some of the thank you’s
