Documents: If you have a court order that has restriction on who can see your young person. Please provide us with the court order to a leader and ask them to place the
documents within the post box within the office at the scout hut.
Also
OSM “online scout manager” within the additional information section of your young persons account there is a box called Court Order (Parental Rights), please provide details i.e. “documents in postbox”
Whilst we will have a process, please keep in touch with our leaders, ensure that you mention it to them and any new leaders. Better safe than sorry.
Our Process
In the case of a Young Person being released at the end of a session.
On pick up if the young person is not aware that a different person is collecting them, we will not release them.
We will ask the Young Person to wait in a different area to the person trying to pick them up whilst we investigate.
We will contact the regular parent immediately to confirm. If they are not available, we will rely on whether OSM named the person or the person is named with access rights on a Court Order (Parental Rights).
If the person trying to pick up is named as not allowed to pick up, or causing a scene to prevent us from investigating then we will contact the police and provide them with the relevant paperwork.
Note for Leaders: To access the key for the Postbox there is a keycode box in the office, the code is the same as for the kitchen cupboards located above the cooker.
