Welcome to 1st Market Bosworth

Based in the heart of historical Market Bosworth and part of the Ashby & Coalville Scout District in Leicestershire, we are a thriving group providing fun and exciting scouting adventures every week to over 110 young people from Market Bosworth and our surrounding villages.

The Scout Group is supported by a group of fantastic Parent Helpers and Leaders to create a highly dedicated leadership team, who produce exciting and dynamic programmes for our young people of the area. We teach life skills as well as having plenty of fun along the way! Each section partakes in a fully organised and risk-assessed plan of regular meetings, camping trips and day activities.

What you should expect when your young person joins our Scout Group is lots of fun and exciting weekly meetings along with various events and overnight experiences. We have some financial support available to those in need and processes for equity diversity and inclusion. What we expect from parents / carers is to be engaged with parent rotas, a willingness to sign up to attend supporting events and overnight experiences.

We are an independent charity with the charity commission ref: 516422. We follow the National Scouts Policy, Organisation and Rules (POR), which requires a minimum safety and safeguarding training and enhanced DBS for all our registered volunteers, and much more training requirements for Leader and Trustee roles, ensuring our young people and volunteers are both well prepared and protected.

Our Group has grown dramatically in all Sections over the last few years, which is attributed to the efforts and hard work of our Leadership team, fully supportive Trustee Board, Section Leaders, Assistants and Fundraising/Grants volunteers.

Our Scout Group was founded in 1955 and is enjoying the highest number of young people in the last 20+ years, which is attributed to the efforts and hard work of our Leadership team, fully supportive Trustee Board, Team leaders, Team Members and our parents and carers.
