Scout Hut Renovations Project – Update & What’s Next!

Update April 2021

Our Exec have been really busy and have so far raised £6,000 towards the Scout Hut renovations project. The exterior works we estimate will cost between £24,000 – £30,000. We are awaiting £18,000 of grant applications replies and have our fingers crossed that we will know more by June this year. The work we have identified will addresses the exterior of the Scout Hut making it water tight, more secure, safe to walk down the path and ensures we meet the covenants on the land. What’s Next

Our Beaver Scouts have been very busy planning how our Scout Hut should look in the future. We asked them what was needed for future generations of young people and they pointed out that wheelchair access is needed now!

We have starting thinking out this and based some plans on their ideas. Both theirs and ours can be seen in the Gallery. Making the Scout Hut more accessible will require a change to the interior layout and we are starting to put our minds to this too.
