Rugby Club helps us put the OUT back into SCOUTING!
Thanks to the generosity of Market Bosworth Rugby Football Club, 1st Market Bosworth Scout Troop are finally off Zoom and meeting in the open air.
With Covid 19 restrictions preventing the Scouts from meeting indoors, their usual HQ was out of bounds. The Group was wondering where they could meet, when the Rugby Club stepped in to offer the use of their grounds, giving the Scouts the perfect venue for providing their brand of Everyday Adventure to the Young People of the area.
Monday 12th of April saw 19 young people join the Leaders at the rugby grounds for the first face-to face meeting of the Troop in almost a year. After an evening of fires and cake, the feedback from Scouts and Parents was both amazing and encouraging. Here’s some of what they said:
- Fantastic night
- Dropping off was no issue, everything ran as expected and pleasantly met by the leaders.
- On collection I could see how happy both of my kids were.
- They couldn’t stop talking about what they had done and it was such a sense of relief to see real smiles and fun in their eyes. It has been the best medicine they have had for a long time.
- I thought the drop off & pick up procedure worked really well & helped minimise contact.
- They really enjoyed getting back and loved that her friend is in her patrol
- From reading the initial instructions I half expected leaders to be in hazmat suits and running the session via loudspeaker, but in fact it all seemed just the right amount of sensible precaution and effective organisation.
- It felt very well organised & it was lovely to see how excited everyone was at being able to see each other in person.
- My young person thought the whole evening was fab.
- Keep going, you’re all doing an amazing job!
