National Memorial Arboretum Visit

Date: 14th Apr 2022 Author: Lindsay Hague-Morgan

1st Market Bosworth Scout Group had a very enjoyable day out at the National Memorial Arboretum on Saturday 9th April.

We had Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts attend from ages of 6 to 14 years old. Along with our Leaders and parent helpers we numbered over 50!

The educational team at the National Memorial Arboretum were simply super

b. They met us as we arrived, settled us into the day, ensured that we had fun and informative activities that interested all age groups. We learned about; how Scouts helped out in the World Wars, the Act of Remembrance, the younger Scouts did a Poppy Activity and we all had a tour of the Arboretum. After some well earned lunch and playground fun, in the afternoon our Leaders took the group to the Scout Memorial where we left a Market Bosworth Necker.

Our young people were a credit to Market Bosworth, they were amazingly behaved throughout the visit with lots of positive feedback coming our way.

Thanks again to the educational team at the National Memorial Arboretum and thanks also to Roberts Travel Group who picked us up from the Market Square and of course brought us back safe and sound. Our next planned visit is in May to the Triumph Factory and a hike back to Market Bosworth on the Ashby Canal, where we will number 60 attending!
